can remember having; it was an absolute pleasure to

author; everything about Gloria is ‘normal’
except that nothing about Gloria’s life is ‘normal’.
Here is the difference: Unlike most authors who have
overcome obstacles, Gloria has not only overcome them,
but has refused to define herself in terms of those
obstacles. She is simply a marvelous guest, with a few
extra features. We hardly noticed the extras after the
warmth of her hello.

only imagine how dark some of her days have been, and
while we stop to think how enormous her task has been,

blasts past us, moving on to her moments of discovery,
of renewal, and also of the indignation at the arrogance
of the conventional medical community. It is living
her life that matters to Gloria, not re-living her losses.
